In the face of seemingly overwhelming competition from AOL, Microsoft decided to re-launch the MSN Internet Portal. To gain quick, broad-scale visibility, Microsoft developed an alliance with RadioShack. This partnership would allow them to benefit from the electronic retailer’s 5,000 nationwide locations, steady foot-traffic and technically oriented sales staff. It would also provide the perfect opportunity to interact with potential customers.
- Create an innovative, technologically savvy store-in-store presentation merchandising the MSN service and Microsoft accessories
- Design MSN branded presentation within the RadioShack store environment
- Ensure implementation in over 5000 locations with varying degrees of retail space
- Leveraged Customer Experience MapSM to identify key touchpoints and align kiosk location and architecture with customer needs
- Designed and prototyped award-wining in-store MSN kiosk in RadioShack
- Developed flexible system and roll-out plan that included over 5000 locations
